I just bought a jock cup first time ever and hurts like hell is this normal?

So I just bought a cup for MMA because my friend wears one and he said get used to wearing it because when you go to tournaments your going to wear one. So I figure just get use to it.

I bought one and it fits fine for my one know what. Other then that though it grinds against my thighs and when I sit down it like pushes up because it's to long but it's deep enough.

It says that my waist size is the right size for medium adult but my weight is about 20 lbs off from the size. So my waist is medium but my weight is small. I'm 5'10'' 140 could anyone could me some advice. I heard it's best if I wear compression shorts under the strap and jock, but that wont solve the whole it hard to sit when wearing it problem.

Shouldn't hurt. You shouldn't really know it's even there. You a. have the wrong size, or b. have it on incorrectly. Either way, if you're going to participate in martial arts, you better wear one!
