Hockey Gear and The Skates That Support Them
If it's one thing that I hate more than anything, it's having to buy brand new hockey gear. That does tend to happen though when you are a hockey player. So I always make sure that I research and look over whatever equipment I am going to buy for my favorite sport. Hockey equipment can be a pain in the butt to research. There are so many different brands out there. Not only that, but each brand has around 3 different levels of equipment. They have the top gear for advanced players. The middle gear intermediate players and finally, the bottom rung gear for hockey players that are just starting off. While this can be confusing for someone who plays sports, once you get the hang of it, you will be playing hockey in the best equipment possible for yourself.
You may be asking yourself, What are the best hockey skates? That is a very good question, but it can be difficult to answer. In order to find the best pair of skates for hockey, you need to know what kind of player you will be or are. Do you need to skate fast and score goals. If so, you are an offensive player. If you are not focused on speed, but more so on staying put, you would be considered a defensive player. Defensive players should not need really expensive bearings in their roller hockey wheels, because they don't really need to be as fast. I tend to find that those who play on defense use their strength more than their speed.
Offensive players such as the center, left and right wingers are going to need fast skates with the proper wheels and bearings. Abec 5 or above are good for these types of players. Swiss bearings are also good too. They should have the proper hockey wheels for the right surface as well. Remeber, it matters weather or not you are playing indoor or street hockey. Sport courts are different than cement surfaces. You will need soft hockey wheels for sport courts. Likewise, you will need hardwheels for hard surfaces. This is all important when you decide to choose your own hockey gear.
